Well, Crash Holly kicked the bucket. This hasn't been a good year to be a wrestler. The business is on a big downward spiral, there's only one steady gig in town and a lot of guys are just plain dying. I pulled out an old Raw/Nitro tape from '97 last night and watched about an hour of it. I saw a lot of dead people. Brian Hildebrand, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Brian Pillman and Curt Hennig just in that span. Not to mention the number of careers that are now dead or on life support (Mick Foley, Alex Wright, The Patriot, Bret Hart, Disco Inferno, Buff Bagwell, Sean Waltman, etc.).
The Austin/McMahon feud was just barely getting some foreshadowing. I find that interesting, since most people think it didn't start until Bret left after the Montreal screwjob. Not so. They were laying the seeds already while Pillman was still alive and Bret was still firmly on top and not even feuding with Shawn Michaels yet. Watch the episode from the night after the Ground Zero PPV and you'll see.
Just goes to show how the WW(F)E used to build angles slowly and logically. And their business was HUGE. Now they just throw shit together and the numbers are really suffering. But then, anyone who cares about this already knows all that (unless their last name is McMahon).
You niggers have nothing to complain about this week. A new review has been added. But maybe I spoke too soon - if you're one of the two or three people who gave a shit about StormClad Radio. It's going the way of the dinosaur. The effort-to-reward ratio is not quite where I had hoped it would be.
